Lechería es una ciudad venezolana ubicada al noreste del Estado Anzoátegui, capital del municipio turístico licenciado Diego Bautista Urbaneja, cuenta con una población de 78.784 habitantes¹ distribuidos en 12 km², como hecho curioso el municipio donde se encuentra la ciudad de Lechería, es el municipio de Venezuela con el nombre más largo, al mismo tiempo que es el municipio más pequeño y uno de los más ricos de Venezuela. Por su cercanía con Barcelona (capital del estado), Puerto la Cruz y Guanta, conforma una de las áreas metropolitanas más grandes del oriente de Venezuela.

Lechería también es la sede administrativa de la parroquia Lechería, la cual tiene dos sectores: Lechería comercial, la cual es atravesada por la Avenida Principal, con sus centros comerciales distribuidos a ambos lados de la vía y muchas casas modernas; por otro lado, hacia las playas está Lechería vieja (casco central), por la cantidad de edificios modernos y casas antiguas, es considerada la zona residencial.

El cerro El Morro es un gran atractivo de la ciudad, al cual suben muchas personas a pie, en bicicleta y en automóvil para hacer ejercicios o para deleitarse con la vista panorámica.

La palabra "Lechería" también es usada para indicar a todo el Municipio Urbaneja, por lo cual al Complejo Turístico el Morro también se le denomina parte de Lecheria aunque pertenezca a la Parroquia El Morro.
